Respiratory Therapy (Adult Associate of Science Program)

Respiratory Therapy is a selective admission, cooperative degree program offered by BridgeValley Community and Technical College and Carver Career & Technical Center. One class of 25 is admitted each July. The program is designed to prepare students for a career as a respiratory care professional. It is a nationally accredited program by The Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).

The Respiratory Therapy program is delivered on-site at Carver Career & Technical Center in Malden, WV. Completion of this 22-month program leads to an Associate of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy and eligibility for the Therapist Multiple Choice and Clinical Simulation Examinations.

As Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapists graduates may expect to find employment in home health care, acute and sub-acute settings, diagnostic laboratories, research, case management, sales, and asthma education.
