Barbering | Secondary Program

Barbering Program (Adult)

We are excited to announce that we are offering a Barbering program. The course is 1200 hours and is designed by the WV Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists and prepares students to work as Barbers. Students will study sanitation, West Virginia state law, clipper cutting techniques, beard trimming and also facial shaving. Students will also be taught the general knowledge and the history of barbering.

Barber Cross Over Program (Adult)

We are now offering a Barber Cross Over program for licensed Cosmetologists. The length of the course is 100 hours. The class will cover all aspects of Barbering including: clipper techniques, beard trimming and facial shaving. It will also include West Virginia state law as well as general knowledge and the history of barbering. A requirement for the Barber Cross over class is you must have a current West Virginia license.

To register for either course you must complete the application, present a copy of your social security card, a copy of a current WV drivers license or identification card, original high school diploma, current TB test (within the last six months) and two recent pictures of you.

Return all of this to the barbering department at Carver. The instructor will be Jonathan Wriston.

Weekly Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 2:30pm
